Dr Crocker is a graduate of the University of New South Wales. He completed his training in nuclear medicine and ultrasound at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital prior to completing a post-graduate Fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. On returning to Australia in 1976, he became the Foundation Director of Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound at Westmead Hospital. He remained in this capacity for a ten-year period prior to establishing Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound Associates with Dr Anthony Walker. Dr Crocker was one of the first doctors in Australia to work with grey scale ultrasound. He studied with Dr George Kossoff (the developer of grey scale ultrasound) at the Ultrasonics Institute and has been responsible for training many doctors in ultrasonography. He was responsible for much of the early research work into thyroid and parathyroid ultrasound imaging. Dr Crocker's major interest is diagnostic ultrasound, in particular obstetric applications. His other interests include thyroid disease, musculoskeletal imaging and cardiovascular nuclear medicine.
