Billing Information

Castlereagh Imaging is a private radiology group with a private billing policy. This policy allows us to provide patients with access to the latest imaging technology, overseen by highly skilled medical specialists in their field of expertise.

Medicare rebates apply to many of our services however for some examinations and procedures an out-of-pocket fee may apply.

Outpatient Billing Policy

We bulk bill outpatients who hold a Commonwealth Government issued Health Care Card or Pension Card for the vast majority of examinations performed by Castlereagh Imaging; however, some services and interventional procedures will attract an out of pocket (or Gap) fee. When an out of pocket fee is applied, we appreciate payment on the day of the examination.

Inpatient Billing Policy

If you require our services during your stay in hospital, you will receive a separate account from Castlereagh Imaging. This is because we are a private and separate entity to the hospital.

Our private fees may be claimable against Medicare and/or your private health insurance; however, an out‐of‐pocket (or Gap) payment may also apply.

We understand that at times, we will have patients whose financial circumstances limit their ability to meet private fees. This includes those who hold a Commonwealth Government issued Health Care Card or Pension Card. For those eligible patients, we do offer discounted fees on some services.

We strongly recommend that you contact your private health insurer prior to your admittance to hospital to find out whether your out‐of‐pocket expenses for medical imaging services will be covered.

We perform examinations at the request of your treating doctor. If you are concerned about the need for any examination, we encourage you to discuss this with them.
